Meet the owners: Laken & Caleb Burris 

Laken & Caleb are originally from Carroll County, VA, married in 2023, and started Rise & Shine Pediatric Therapy in 2026. They desire to provide access to therapy services for families and children in the Southwest Virginia area.

Laken attended Emory & Henry College for her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science, as well as her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During college, she discovered her love for pediatrics and her joy for working with kiddos quickly grew deeper through clinical experience in the natural environment and outpatient pediatric settings. She is passionate about working with families to provide optimal care for each child with celebration of every goal achieved.

Caleb attended Liberty University for his Bachelor’s in Business Administration, as well as his Master’s in Accounting while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He is passionate about helping families navigate resources to best support their child. Outside of work, Laken & Caleb enjoy spending time at the lake or beach with their Mini Aussie, Poppi.
